Data We Collect
To provide our service, we collect the following:
- Account information: This includes your name and email address.
- Billing information: This is securely processed by our trusted payment provider.
- Documents you upload: These are used specifically for OCR processing.
- Processing results and service records: We keep the text and other results we produce, your settings, and limited records needed for account security and reliable processing.
Data Security and Storage
We take the security of your data seriously:
- Your connection to Handwriting OCR is encrypted in transit using TLS. We use access controls and other safeguards to protect stored documents and results.
- Your storage and processing location depends on your account and service configuration. If you need a particular region, please contact us before uploading restricted documents so we can confirm what is available.
- Trusted service providers help us host and run the service, handle payments and send email. We share only the information they need for those jobs. We do not sell your data.
Your Control Over Your Data
You can manage your documents in your account:
- You can delete documents at any time through your account.
- By default, we automatically delete documents and their results after 7 days. You can adjust this in your settings; the standard range is 10 minutes to 14 days.
- A deleted document is removed from your account immediately.
- We keep account, billing and security records for the time needed to run the service and meet legal obligations. Please contact us if you want to ask about or request deletion of a specific record.
Support and Document Access
Our support team is here to help. We access your documents when you ask us to investigate a problem, and limit any access needed to protect or operate the service to authorised team members.
Connectors and Integrations
Handwriting OCR offers optional connectors for services including ChatGPT, Google Workspace™ (Drive and Gmail), Zapier, Make and Power Automate. When you choose to process a file through a connector, we receive that file and return the result to the connected service. That service may keep its own copy under its privacy policy. Disconnecting stops future access through the connector but does not remove copies it has already received.
Handwriting OCR’s use of information received from Google Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We’ll always notify you of any significant changes.
